OK. I'm a beginner.. and now I have 3 blogsites, i don't know why. This one was created so I could merely comment on someone else's blog. I don't know if I HAD to or not, but I don't think I'll ever figure out all this techno stuff- I used to be pretty savvy on the technology, but it's just run over me somehow.
So, if you want to read my real blog, go to www.agapesantos.wordpress.com
And, I always want to explain why I chose a name. I'm terrible at choosing "cool" and meaningful names. This one: we are moving to Mexico. My biggest memories of Mexico so far are more cactus than a person can count and as far as the eye can see. Also, the spines are sooo much fun. But the fruit of the prickly pear, its called "tuna", is so yummy, even if you do have to swallow lots of tiny seeds (or spend your afternoon trying to spit them out).
Now for the deeper application. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self control. All of these are the most evident when hanging out with prickly, spiny cactus like folks. So much wonderful goodness behind the thorns. But, gotta have the fruit of the spirit to get it/ let it out. And sometimes the person with the thorns is ME, and I'm the hardest person in the world to love when I'm spiny. Hard for me to love, and hard for me to accept God's love. That's why the thorns are there - to scare away anyone who might try to love me. I guess. AND gotta accept it before I can give it. That's it. If you can get past the spines, the fruit is so yummy.
